Pillsbury Crescents

Ingredients

can (8 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent rolls

8

oz turkey breast, deli sliced

4

tablespoons cranberry sauce

1

tablespoon orange juice

1

teaspoon granulated sugar

    Roll out dough. Instead of dividing into triangles keep in rectangular form. You will have 4 rectangles. Place on to a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

    In a small bowl combine cream cheese, orange juice, and sugar until fully combined. Spread 1/4 of amount of cheese onto the rectangle.

    Add 1 tbsp cranberry sauce. Top with 2 oz of turkey.

    Fold dough over to form a square. Pressing down around the edges to form a seal. Repeat until you have 4 pockets.

    Using a knife write the letter T to indicate that you made a Turkey pocket. That way if you make more than one flavor you will know what you are biting into.

    Bake at 375°F for 13-15 minutes until golden brown. Can be served warm or cold.

  • On August 1st, I moved to a new neighborhood.I don’t know a soul and that can make it hard for knowing who is supposed to be in my neighbor’s yard and who is not. Lucky for me in just a few short days it’s National Night Out and that will hopefully give me the opportunity to meet and greet my neighbors.I'm fortunate that the front of my new place has a large courtyard perfect for picnicking. I plan on heading on out there with my portable picnic bites of Ham and Cheese Crescent Pockets and Turkey Cranberry Crescent Pockets to win over the new neighbors.What’s even better about these is that they can be made ahead of time and are nice and portable so you can walk around eating your dinner while you meet the peeps that make up your ‘hood.I decided to make a good ol’ ham and cheese (because you can never go wrong with that) and a version of my favorite way to make a turkey sandwich…with cream cheese and cranberry sauce. It seemed odd to me to the first time I ordered it, but after one bite I knew that this was an instant classic in my book.You can fill them with just about anything you put in a sandwich, but keep in mind that things like lettuce probably won’t work that well since they are being baked.So be creative, have fun and get out and meet your neighbors!

Leftover Turkey + Cheddar Crescent Rolls

Ah, leftover turkey, one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving. There are so many fun things you can do with leftover turkey and don’t worry, we will be sharing those recipes too! But, today we are focusing on these yummy leftover turkey and cheddar crescent rolls. Literally, this is the easiest recipe and is up for so much interpretation depending on what leftovers you have. That’s the one downfall in our lives is we never play holiday host. We have to go to three Thanksgivings in one day and don’t even get me started on Christmas. It’s awesome to have such a big family but one year we look forward to hosting! Someday, maybe. I’ve talked about this before but always use Pillsbury crescent rolls. They are the best, hands down. We’ve tried store brand and they just aren’t nearly as flaky or delicious. I will say that I’ve tried Immaculate Baking before and those ones are good but still not as good as regular Pillsbury. We actually bought a five can box at Costco for less than $5, which is amazing.
If you don’t have any leftover turkey (the travesty), you could totally use ham or even some veggies. Throw any type of yummy cheese in there, wrap ’em up and toss in the oven. Yum, these are seriously the best Black Friday lunch. They are gooey, soft, buttery, savory, and just downright delicious. You’re going to need that bundle of five Pillsbury containers for the whole family to enjoy! We used leftover cranberry sauce for dipping but you could use gravy too! Leftover turkey is seriously good dunked in anything. Now the real question is, do you eat cranberry sauce warm or cold? Tell us in the comments!


Carol’s Cranberry Brie Ring

It’s always fun to make something for Thanksgiving or all those upcoming holiday parties that wow people. I believe this recipe is it!

It’s a cranberry brie ring, and it is so simple, your kids can make it for you! Plus, it’s a win for you, because your friends and family will be super impressed with this one.

You can also add turkey to this recipe, and it takes it from being the perfect appetizer to the perfect quick meal. It’s like a warm holiday sandwich hug and your family won’t be able to get enough!

Let’s get cooking together…

  • 2 Cans Crescent Rolls
  • 1 Cup Cranberry Sauce (The cranberry-orange sauce from the Publix bakery is perfect for this recipe!)
  • 1 Brie Cheese Wheel
  • 1 Egg
  • Sea Salt
  • Thyme
  • Optional: Deli Sliced Turkey

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • On a round pan, lay out crescent roll triangles, overlapping into a circle.

  • If you are using turkey in this recipe, place folded slices around the circle first before adding the cranberries. Skip this step of you are making the appetizer version.
  • Spoon cranberry sauce onto the overlapping portion of the crescent roll dough.

  • Slice brie cheese into small wedge slices and place in a circle overtop the cranberry sauce. I did not use the entire wheel.

  • Crack an egg into a bowl and mix together with a fork. Use a brush to evenly coat the crescent circle with egg wash.

  • Bake for 20-30 minutes, keeping an eye on it starting at 20. It’s done when your crescent ring is golden brown!

Some people people may think I am crazy, but I know there are those of you out there that are just like me. Right?

All my leftover lovers say haaaaay.

I mean I love them so much I make twice as much, ham, turkey, or beef than I really need just so I will have plenty of leftovers after I send the kids home with doggy bags.

Speaking of doggy bags, does anyone else out there remember when they actually sent you home from restaurants with "doggy bags"?

I can remember brown paper bags that had dogs on the bag.

I think one of them said "Doggy Bag" on it, and one said something like "Bones for Bowser".
